P3D The Realorama """REGAL """ Viewer.

Hi all,

With all the talk about the "Realomara" viewer by Realist, I have to chime
in with information on the NEW AND IMPROVED MODEL --- "THE REALORAMA REGAL"

In place of the catch the light diffusor next to your forehead, Realist
replaced it with a 2 "C" cell battery operated dual bulb light source.
Replacing the original 2 bulbs with halogen ones gives one a spectacular 3D
look to a 2D slide. Viewing the slide in the curved parabolic reflector
somehow adds the feeling of depth.

I use my REGAL Realorama viewer on a regular basis to view the few 2d slides
I shoot. It is a little bulky but worth the weight.

Some where I have the original box and will forward the specs to anyone
interested.

Cheers

These are the specs for the non lighted version of the viewer.

<< Realorama Slide Viewer Model No. 2001, manufactured by Realistâ„¢, Inc.
While this is NOT a stereo viewer, it imparts an almost depth illusion to 35
mm and Superslides, by use of a curved mirror.
It is a "steal the light" device using the simplest optics.

 Quoting from the box:

 "A BRAND NEW IDEA
That Obsoletes All Other Slide Viewers

Now.....see your favorite slides big as life with a clarity and brilliance
that surpasses that of normal battery-operated or electric viewers
 with normal room light!
Realorama's unique new optical system makes all other slide viewers out of
date ....gives you natural viewing with both eyes, completely free of
annoying glare and reflections ....in the equivalent of a 40x40 projected
picture! Because you look at glass rather than through it, you get a
remarkable illusion of depth that gives your pictures amazing new life, snap
 and sparkle!"
