P3D Vintage Slide Question

Greetings,

I was curious what you thought about removing vintage slides
from the original mounts due to POOR alignment and remounting
them in modern mounts (RBT's).

Do you think this would decrease the value of the slide?To me it
makes no difference,I buy the slide for the image not the mount
be it vintage or modern.
