P3D Stereoscopic Video projection

Here is another thing I'm excited about, in addition to the
new version of Animation Master.

We've had an InFocus computer/video projector at our
research group for a few years. I tried it with alternate
field video and it didn't work. We recently bought a
Plus U1080 video projector and it works great! You can
play stereo video recorded with the Nu-View adapter
and view it through the LCS glasses. The result is
huge wall size 3D video! It even has less flicker than
watching on a picture tube (less brightness, I guess).
I must say, it is impressive! It is like having your own
3D movie theatre. You must wear the LCS glasses
but you can project onto any surface, it doesn't have to
be silver.

These projectors cost somewhere around $5500. Much
less than the projectors sold by VRex, but then their
projectors will work with regular polarized glasses, which
makes them much more practical for large audiences.

At next month's Oakland Camera Club meeting I will
bring the projector, Nu-View, and 6 to 8 pairs of glasses.
So if you haven't been to an OCC meeting in awhile
you might want to make it to this one. It will be Tuesday
February 1st, a 7:30. Visit our web site for map/directions.

Oh, one more thing. The Salem Lutheran Center, where OCC
meets, has added a security gate. Press the numbers 0-0-1 to
talk to security to get in (it isn't as difficult as it sounds).
