P3D The Haunting

Using my DVD player ( S video) through my 35'' Toshiba TV, I
photographed stereo pairs by pausing the motion picture during
horizontal panning scenes, take a picture, use jogshuttle to advance the
scene, and shoot the second image. I shot scenes from various
movies.....cityscapes, nature etc.....any scene that panned horizontally
across still objects. The TV monitor resolution appeared worse on film
but the 3D effect is great!!
By doing this I was able to confirm my suspicions about the movie " The
Haunting". The movie takes place within a huge estate.....the interior
scenes were so impressive I questioned whether this building really
exists!
As it turns out.....my stereo pairs from this movie are all flat!
Perhaps Tom Deering or others could comment.......was this movie,
specifically the building's interior, done digitally?
My stereo pairs seem to conclude this. The only pair that appeared to
have depth was an exterior shot of the building......which leads me to
believe that the exterior was real, and many of the wonderful interior
shots are not real. This movie really looks good either way!
