FYI, I have a full time job, a family with small children
and a variety of other responsibilities, so time is limited
for me too. I still make time to publish an 8-page newsletter
once a month (with 36 pictures and a variety of articles,
news, tutorials, etc.) and read and contribute to photo-3d
and other mailing lists. Perhaps I am more productive than
others or I just need less sleep? -:>

I am sorry, I was replying to a post from Bruce who was
responding to a post from Bob Aldridge... I was not
critiquing anyone. Try and find somebody else to
critique about not copying those who they are critiquing...
not me, please! Saying that the Editor should be reading
p3d is not a criticism. It is an opinion. What else did
I write that was perceived as a criticism for the Editor of
Stereoscopy?

The authors only become authors when they write something.
Until then they are potential authors and, IMO, it is
the primary responsibility of the Editor to make them
real authors. If no one wants to write anything for a
given publication then somewhere there is a problem.
I agree that members should contribute, that's why I
asked Bruce to write something. I cannot make him
write anything. Perhaps the Editor of Stereoscopy is
in better position to discuss with him the details of
future articles. But does the Editor of Stereoscopy
know Bruce? Does he know that Bruce can write? Does
he know what kind of things can Burce write?
A lot of Editors should be taking lessons from Dalia
Miller. First she makes you commit to write an article.
(She knows each future writer's strengths and how these
strengths fit with the character of the publication.)
They she bugs you until the promised goods are delivered.
She does not beg... She just lets you know that she needs
the article by the given deadline. She keeps reminding
if the articles are not coming on time. She usually gets
my article (not many Editors can say that about me :-))
How much time does she put to this? How big of a problem
is it? Maybe she can tell us (if she has time to read p3d!)
