I believe the T4 Yashica has "Infinity Lock" which just as it says would
lock the camera at infinity. In a bright situation where you should get a
small aperture this should work out well for stereo.
Possible other option.
I just picked up a Fuji DL super mini zoom which may be an interesting
camera to consider for twin. The zoom is a 28-56 (exceptionally nice lens
for a P&S) lens but it has only 5 set zoom points and not continuous
(potential for stereo). It is all aluminum metal outer skin and fits easily
in your pocket. You can actually set the focus distance manually starting
with 0.6 meters on upto infinity lock. Many other nice features and a beauty
to hold. I bought it to use on a slide bar and as my main point and shoot.
The camera came out in 1997 and was priced at $350. B&H is closing them out
at $159.
thats all for now.
