This is indeed an option when you know ahead of time that you need many
duplicates and don't mind the lower quality slides you will get with
even your *first* copy if you shoot print film and go this route.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the only way to do this is
to shoot *print film* and then the negative becomes your "master" from
which you make the multiple slides copies, so you don't get a good
quality first generation slide. However, I heard that Dale labs has
switched to a "new" film for their slide copies since I tried them a
year or two ago, so I do plan to try them again at least once. I did not
find the quality of the slides acceptable when I tried them in the past,
a little washed out looking as I recall. My subjective opinion, of
course.

I did recently go back to those negs (Kodak 100 asa) and have prints
made by my local lab, which turned out well, so the other option is just
to shoot Realist prints in the first place for this purpose(if your lab
doesn't mind dealing with 5p negs, and many P3Ders have said that their
local labs will do this, even if there is no lab out there doing these
officially by mail order now). Anyone out there who can talk their
cooperative "local lab" into also doing mail order Realist prints?

If my lab continues to do well with Realist prints (although they charge
reprint prices due to the extra work involved), I will probably go to
using the Nimslo only for closeups and for when weight is at a premium,
but will use two 5p cameras much of the time, one with print film (Kodak
Royal Gold 100) used more sparingly due to the cost of prints, and one
with slide film (Provia 100) for most of the time. -Linda
