On Thursday, February 10, 2000, (page G-12), David Kushner wrote a very
interesting article for the New york Times titled, "IMAX: Movies with a Third
Dimension that Makes You Duck"
This is a 3/4 page article with color graphics of the IMAX camera, lens,
actual film size clip, Theater set up, and polarizing info.
The article discusses a film due to open in October which will have 3D clips
converted from the movies "Antz" and "The Simpsons" I found it interesting
that the article cites two IMAX films which brought tears to viewer's eyes -
"Across the Sea of Time" and "T-Rex" I have not seen this mentioned in any
other review - except for my mention of that fact in the reviews I wrote for
"Stereo World"
The article then goes into a short history of 3D films and ends with
informing us of the possibility of converting any existing film to 3D! The
last sentence of the article, I feel, is worth repeating here: " If a
colorized Casablanca looks bizarre, just imagine the possibilities of Bogey
in 3-D. Here's really looking at you" The article can be found at any
public library if you do not have other access to the Times for that date.
