Years ago I would work for hours with green argon lasers without eyewear
in the dark doing holography. Emerging into the late afternoon sun
revealed lawns and woods devoid of green color.  The green receptors
were just tired.  I expect that our vision "software" makes some
"corrections" over time to find the best balance.
