P3D Re: Nimslo close-ups

I've been using the closeup lenses from Stereotype (Craig Daniels).
They are available in 9" focusing and 30". Each one is just a
little sliver of glass that covers two adjacent lenses on the
Nimslo. I've had consistently great results with the 30" version
for portraits. I put it over the two lenses closest to the
viewfinder, and not much viewfinder correction is necessary.
The "macro" version is good, but of course depth of field is
limited, and I tend to shoot too fast--have only a couple of
good shots! :-) Some time I have to take a picture of a ruler
and get some parameters set!

Stereotype (stereotype@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) also has distance lenses
("Scenics") available to correct for the fact that Nimslo lenses
do not focus to infinity. These are two separate lenses that go
over the outer lenses on the Nimslo.

Since these lenses are so small, they are very convenient to
use if you have a method of attachment--I use Velcro. They are
also easy to lose--one of my Scenics disappeared into the grass
at the National Arboretum and was never seen again, at least not
by me! :-/ But at only $16.95 for the replacement pair, it
wasn't a major tragedy!
