Mounting in RBTs is surely faster than heat seals.
If your camera has vertical anomalies (one gate higher or lower than the
other), the very first time you use RBT mounts you will have to figure
out the best combination of pin-bar placement to fix your vertical
offset. Once you know that, you just continue to use that arrangement
going forward.
With RBT mounts, there is no taping of chips or heat-sealing step
required, so once you have set the window by sliding the chips on the
pin-bars, you snap on the cover and your precision mounting is done.
Some folks say the cost per mount for RBTs is prohibitive. I'd suggest
giving up one or more vices for a month, that should certainly pay for a
box of RBTs. Or skip lunch a couple of days a week, most Americans are
overweight anyway according to the media. ;-)
