I thought the SI issue was a tremendous success. Of course, transparencies
in a top quality viewer would yield more detail and roundness. Any ideas
about how to distribute these images without having to charge $100 per
issue? I hope there'll be some form of StereoJet technology ready for mass
production before long - but until then the color anylglyphs in the SI issue
represent an excellent combination of image quality and economic
feasibility. I have no doubt that this issue will help convince other
publishers to make use of 3D. I spent a lot of time studying the 3D ads, and
I imagine that even non 3D buffs spent significantly more time looking at
the 3D ads than the other advertising. Every advertiser wants their message
to stand out from the others - have any marketing studies been done about
the effects of 3D on the impact and retention of advertising?
