P3D sharp picture taking, how to

I used to think that I focussed badly sometimes and
then realised that it was a bit of camera shake. I
have gotten much better, and I try not to shoot at
slow shutter speeds. Here is my question, what are
different ways that people can cut down on camera
shake?

press the camera against your face.
tripod/monopod

Any others?

I have noticed that many new cameras have an
electronic shutter. Does that cut down on camera
shake? If so, why is that, and is it just the shutter
release button that is electronic, or the shutter as
well? Does anyone know how that works? I think some
of the RBT cameras use an electronic shutter.
