They have been announcing this under various names and companies for
several years now.  No one has ever seen a working prototype.  At this
point in time the product seems fairly limited (can only hold 24
1280x1024 images, limited number of cameras that is fits).  $700 can
buy a fairly nice digicam.

Search for EFS at Deja News in the rec.photo.ditigal newsgroup to see
the history of this product.
