When I said in a recent P3D

<< To eliminate dust and by products of cardboard, heat seal glue, tape
adhesives (Scotch tape...a big no. no >>

I was referring to the older 50's cardboard mounts that have the proven
time now to show the damage they cause with glue, tape or adhesive. I was
not referring to currently available cardboard mounts. I dont know about
Magic Tape...so I'll defer to Gary Schacker, or whoever can comment more
on Magic Tape's archival qualities.
I have some old artwork, about 12 years oldm with Magic Tape on it...and
the Magic Tape seems quite stable and has caused no damage to the papers
adhered to. Thats a good sign.

Looking at my 10 year old cardboard mounted images (Pegco mostly)...I have
much the same problems with cardboard dust that the 50's images do. The
dust on my original slides is not coming from the outside world as they
are in sealed plastic Flambeau storage cases. However I dont store my
mounts so that each one does not touch the next one (as in storing in
Berezin cases). So the pressure of them rubbing against each other and
being handled over the years might contribute to the generation of the
dust.
