I'm somewhat open on the question, but generally I find that
if a group is somewhat hard to find, the quality of the people
subscribing is higher, and they tend to be more committed to
the subject. On the list I was running here, it drove me
bannanas for people to subscribe on one day and de-subscribe
the next.  This will still be true (to a lesser extent) with
onelist since after Friday I'll be doing approvals on subscriptions
again. Also you present less of a target for hackers/spammers
(know as "security thru obscurity").
