I'd say it is necessary to flatten the stereo cards
before scanning or copying.  If you put a curved
view in the flatbed scanner you will get a green
reflection.  The scanning light strikes the scanned
object at a small angle to the normal to the surface.
If the card is curved, a portion of it is perpendicular
to the scanning light, acting as a mirror and resulting
in this green line.

Also, when copying with camera it is preferable that
the view is flat.

My solution is this:

1. I have made a jig to flatten the card for copying.

2. I use a heavy book and press it with my hands over
the flatbed scanner.

When I am done and release the pressure, the card
returns back to its previous curved state.
