Peter tried to post a useful tip in photo-3d and
received this response:

It is stuff like this that I read and make me act like Mr.
Hyde. Do you blame me for that???

Yes, Peter, I know... You have posted some very useful
tips in the past too.
>I use the caps of empty film canisters. Cut a round hole in it

>whatever. You can press 30-32mm filters, close-up lenses and

Thanks for the tip. Now, here is the story behind this:
A few years back someone posted the same exactly tip.
He claimed that the caps of KONICA film canisters fit
perfectly over the Realist lists (after drilling a hole).
(Not every cap of film canister will fit well).
I was the only one who responded to this and offered to buy
all his Konica film canister caps. I tried it and it works!
I was planning to drill the holes and glue filters and SELL
them to Realist users. I even put the tip in my Stereo
Realist book, section 7.4 ("Other Filter Ideas"), page 67.
Fig. 7.11 shows a picture of it. The caption in this
figure reads: "Custom-fitted filters in a Realist. Start
with a film cap and open a 20mm (3/4") hole so that it
fits over the Realist lens. Obtain small size filters
(small are preferred so that they do not block the
viewfinder; shown here is a 43.5mm diameter filter from
Porter's [ref 45] in a clearance sale) and attach them
to the film cap using a hot glue gun. Presto!"
And now here is the "hawking" part (I don't know what
hawking means, but I get the idea):
YOU CAN GET THIS WONDERFUL REALIST BOOK DIRECTLY FROM ME.
Right now I am running a Dutch auction, which, as I explained
in sell-3d, is not really an auction... the book will be
sold at the regular price. Here, have a look:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=287352046
If you don't like ebay or auctions, you can buy this directly
from me at the listed price.
Did I hawk too much Mr. Complainer? Well, sorry about that...
but I dressed it very well with a nice useful tip, didn't I?
Peter, please continue with your useful tips and ignore the
distracting noise or lack of attention which usually
surrounds them!
Thank you!
George Themelis
