Since George has decided to step in and give me the name "Mr.
Complainer" I guess I should at least say something.
In private email Peter has already informed me that I "didn't get the
joke" he was posting regarding Calcite and Onelist to which I had posted
the response he has decided to repost under a different subject line
(the original subject line was "Onelist" for those who wish to find the
original exchange).
I hit reply when I should have hit reply-sender. Since that one part of
Peter's original post didn't actually have a tip in it but seemed to be
worded the same as a product pitch (particularly coming from a domain
like info-products.nl which - warranted or not - sounds rather
spammish), my original response may have been heavy handed. I apologize
for that and for replying via post when it should have gone private if
at all.
Actually, I wish the tip had been included in the original post as it
seems very useful but there's no way I would ever have contacted Peter
for it as I really did assume he was looking to sell stuff and I'm not
currently in the market to buy too much right now (tips, I'm always
interested in). I'm really glad he clarified that.
Yes, George, you do hawk your wares a lot (others may have said too
much) . . . however, you usually include tips when you do so or at least
informative comments. No, my response to Peter had nothing to do with
you (actually, I enjoy your posts for the most part and am reading my
copy of your Realist Maintenance Manual right now as bedside reading and
I can't reccommend it enough) . . . of course, my original comments to
Peter had nothing to do with you, but you knew that.
Feel free to look at the archives for the original post and my so-called
"Mr. Complainer" response.
I guess I will return to lurking for awhile as well.
