Might I suggest that these various translations be placed in the
description via links to a supplementary page somewhere?

If you have them on the main page it might imply that the discussion on
the list is multilingual while the English-only description implies that
we communicate in English.  If not, at least put a heads-up in the
non-English variations that list communication is conducted in English
as the common language.

I suspect that the Spanish speakers are not subscribing through a
misunderstanding but rather because someone on the Spanish 3D list has
posted the subscription info without explicitly stating list
communication is in English.  So, once folks actually get on it and see
that it's in a language they don't understand or prefer not to use all
that much, they panic and unsubscribe.

I've noticed a couple Japanese webpages link directly to the list pages
without a heads-up as well.

Of course, these are just my thoughts.  Others may disagree.
