I live in Canada and also have noticed this trend, regarding
more sellers "apparently" selling only to the US. I suspect
one reason is because the default setting is US, and they
don't bother to change it. I'm guessing the default or question
was different before. Any sellers can elaborate, if that has
been the case. 

Another reason is most transactions (pure guess on my part) are
done in the US, so they can't be bothered. Not that I can blame
them for that. When I see something I'm interested I email the
seller to ask if I can bid on the item. Most times they agree.
