Last weekend, I went to an exhibition of Dali's work at the Wadsworth
Atheneum Museum of Art ("Salvador Dali Optical Illusions", Jan. 21 -
March 26, 2000), Hartford, CT.  There were a few sets of Dali's
stereoscopic pairs of paintings, with two sets presented complete
with Wheatstone mirror stereoscopes.  Unfortunately, the museum
misalligned two pictures of Gala's Christ (1978, oil on canvas), so
badly that I couldn't fuse the pairs of images. This should have been
the best of the bunch. This exhibition will now go to the Hirshhorn
Museum and Sculpture Garden in Wash. DC (April 19 - June 18, 2000),
so if anyone can go there, make sure the paintings are properly
alligned! 

(Speaking of misallignment, I saw a teenager try to allign two other
stereoscopic pairs of paintings using red-blue glasses!)
