Hershel:

One of the clerks at my local post office tried to pull this on me until
I pointed out to him that the form which they require us to use for
insurance states for "Domestic and International use." He grumbled but
he added the insurance and it arrived in Canada successfully. I've also
shipped USPS to Japan and to Hong Kong with no problems using their
Pacific Rim service... but it isn't cheap. I ask Japanese customers to
send an international money order which is available from their post
office, and the folks in Hong Kong send me a check/money order from a
Hong Kong bank with the name of their American affiliate bank printed on
the check/money order.  Slow, but no real problems.
