[photo-3d] stereo-adapter plans for FREE!

As everybody starts selling plans of 3d devices (ANALglyphs, camera
adapters) at $10, here are my projects for free...

1. to project beam-splitter slides:

from the lens                       Polarizer
left image rays-------------->|----------->to screen
right image rays--->\mirror
                                 !           Polarizer
                      mirror\-------->|----------->to screen

this arrangement can work with 2nd surface mirrors. You could even use
polarizers from cardboard spex (just crop 2 chips  and match them in a 5x5cm
frame, then tape the frame in front of your  projector's lens). This latter
arrangement gives worst results; perhaps it migh work with 1st surface
mirrors (2nd tend to de-polarize).

2. to get split stereos from a webcam:
as above, just replace the screen with the subject, and the projector with
the webcam... of course you needn't the polarizers.

Caution: even if you own a TV/PC projector, you can't use method 1 to
project  the images (movies) you got by method 2: LCD projectors already
polarize light by themselves...
