[photo-3d] Realist 45 Questions

Odd coincidence that a discussion of Realist 45 should break out here just
as I was buying a "fixer upper" Realist 45 last Saturday morning.  It was
priced appropriate per its condition, by the way..  The Realist 45 I bought
seems to be,uh, generally okay, but...

Shutter does not work.  I'd guess you cock the shutter out front as I do
with my old Realist 3.5, but, though I can feel spring pressure, the cock
will not "stay".  And, no action at all with the shutter release button.
Anyone out there been inside one of these?  Figured I'd ask before I went at
it with screw drivers and good intent... Any clues?

Aluminum (?)surface is dirty/pitted.  Any advise on what to clean it with??
