Very interesting. I put a dark lens over my left eye to
check for pulfrich effect with this display and found that
the upper half of the rotation seems concave, the lower
half convex. Putting the dark lens on the right eye
reverses the illusion and makes the upper half seem like a
cone receding base-first into the screen. Your results
may differ. There is also an interesting after-image that
occurs after you've stared at this revolving image for
awhile: Look at another screen after you close the
rotating one, and the area around your point of vision
seems to be rotating in the opposite direction! It's like the
effect you get when you stare out the window of an
airplane approaching the gate: when you finally stop, the
window scene seems to be moving forward, even though
it's motionless.
