More fun, maybe... Better prices? Better selection?
Not sure about that.....
You have to realize that ebay and the Internet is changing the rules
and the ways things are traded... With every major and minor seller
in ebay, why would anyone carry to sell stuff at NSA?
In an NSA convention you are what is known as "captive audience".
You came from far way... You have no where else to go. If you
came there to buy a Stereo Realist, you will be forced to buy a
Stereo Realist at the selection and prices the Realists marked
at the trade show.
I think it was Atlanta... I remember a fellow who saw the light
and wanted to buy a Realist towards the end of the convention.
All that was left were overpriced disfunctioning Realist. These
were his only choices.
Ignorance is found not only in ebay but in NSA too... Last NSA
John Roll came and asked me if I have heard of a "Smith" viewer.
Never heard of it. He took me to a dealer's table to show me
a Realist White Button viewer which was scribed "Smith" between
the lenses. Obviously, a previous owner's name. The dealer had
put an outrageous sticker price in this inferior viewer and
claimed that it was a special viewer called "Smith" that no one
had ever heard of. If you do that in ebay, people (like the
annoying DrT) will let you know... It has happened many times.
The dealer who is selling now in ebay and comes to Mesa,
how do you think he is going to price his stuff? I'll
tell you: Higher than he is expecting to get from ebay.
He can sell through ebay today with his pajamas on, laughing
at the prices going up. Why carry that stuff to the NSA
convention? Most probably he will bring the equipment that
did not meet his reserve... He figures, if I don't sell
them in Mesa, I'll put them in ebay the day after...
These are some of the things to have in mind while planning
your future stereo purchases...

PS. I'll be in Mesa... Stop for a cup of coffee... but don't
expect me to have 40 shrink-wrapped Realists this time...
I will not need 2 tables in Mesa, that's for sure!
