Hi,

I've used the infrared photo repeaters sold for use with video setups to do
this. They consist of a receiver and transmitter pair with the transmitter
being quite small. I don't know what kind of code the camera transmitter
generates so I don't know how much work you'd be getting into but it is
possible. If you're serious about this, I might be able to help with the
electronics.

By the way, when I did this using two Pentax cameras I discovered the
shutter sync wasn't very good because the two cameras had slightly different
response times to the remote control. Just a warning.
