[photo-3d] re: Twin Olympus C-3030's

In addition to the infrared receptor being on the front of the camera, there
isn't any provison for pre-focus. Then you have the problem of matching the
(infrared response time + focus time + shutter release). That is going to be
mighty difficult. I really wanted to twin the Olympus 3030, since the image
quality would allow decent projection.
However, I couldn't solve the the above problem, so I went with the lower
pixel Casio. The wired remote has a prefocus button with a green light that
comes on. As per previous discussions, you prefocus and then get your
semi-candid shot when it comes along. The camera sleep delay is adjustable
and the settings can be selectively saved as power-up defaults.

<<Hi,
<<
<<I've used the infrared photo repeaters sold for use with video setups to do
<<this. They consist of a receiver and transmitter pair with the transmitter
<<being quite small. I don't know what kind of code the camera transmitter
<<generates so I don't know how much work you'd be getting into but it is
<<possible. If you're serious about this, I might be able to help with the
<<electronics.
<<
<<By the way, when I did this using two Pentax cameras I discovered the
<<shutter sync wasn't very good because the two cameras had slightly different
<<response times to the remote control. Just a warning.
