The remote for the Olympus C-3030zoom seems to be powerful enough to set off
the camera from the back when inside a room. It bounces off the walls just
like the TV remotes do. When outside, you would have to place the remote on
the lens side of the cameras and fire them. There is a 3 second delay after
firing the remote as it is in the self-timer mode. Focus and exposure setup
are done in the first half second, then the cameras would go off after the 3
seconds. This timing is most likely done by software timing loop, so
should be
accurate between cameras although I haven't tested that. A trip to the camera
store to fire the remote at my camera and at the store camera would give the
answer.

There is a "motor drive" mode of 3.3 frames/Sec where the focus/exposure setup
are only done on the first frame. These photos may also be synchronized. For
flash photography you need to use the matching F-40 flash unit, or any
external
flash with multi-flash capability. You can get up to five shots while using
the 1536 x 2048 JPG mode before having to wait for the buffer to be emptied
