"All the news, in 3-D!" Must be a potential market there... :-)
Actually, I have an interesting counter-example (to two eyes being better than one). On a trip to the Santa Cruz Mystery Spot a couple of years ago (it's one of those places where you can get compelling illusory displacements of e.g. what direction is up, so that a ball appears to roll up-hill; the tour guides describe it as a "mysterious force, unknown to modern science!"), I noticed that some of the illusions were a lot less compelling if you closed one eye. Not sure why, it struck me as bizarre. The Mysterious Force must have been affecting my mind... :-)
