[photo-3d] One Ricoh behind the other

Sorry if this is a duplicate posting - I tried posting directly from the
Onelist web site and it didn't seem to go through

the interocular distance

shots, although I'm

If you don't have infinity in the shot you can get surprisingly close with a
6" separation, especially using 28 mm lenses. I've recently been
experimenting with putting the left XR-10M partly behind the right one.
This gives me a lenses separation of 3 3/4", with the left lens 2 1/4"
behind the right one. Using 28mm lenses I've taken lots of nice "people"
shots at distances between 5 and 10 feet. At 10 feet I can't detect a
difference in the size of the two images. Closer in the right image is
slightly larger, but not enough for me to notice in a Red Button or Holmes
viewer. Of course custom prints or digitally manipulated images could be
adjusted to match exactly.
I've put an example of this in the "XR-10M sync" folder in the Onelist
files. The URL is:
http://www.onelist.com/files/photo-3d/Twin+XR-10M+sync/Right+camera+in+front
+of+left+camera.jpg
Using this technique I can now use the same twin XR-10M rig for hypers,
scenics and family shots. Jim Harp
