Wouldn't it have been better to use more film but to come back from an
expensive trip to Hawaii with the certainty of at least one good exposure of
every composition? I know that in response to this that people on this list
will tout the perfection of the auto exposure system of their various cameras
and the authority of hand held meters but I will never be convinced. I use
these tools also but as photographers we must be sure to bring home the
bacon, and with SLIDE FILM, that means bracketing! You can get away with
auto exposure, or a good guess with print film.
By the way, I don't mean by this post to disparage in any way the talents of
Grant as a photographer. I just hate to hear stories like this!
