    I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the NSA - I was hoping to make
it my first.  I just got back from AZ for a biz trip.  Some of the more
interesting things to do within 2 hours of Phoenix include:
        SEDONA.  It used to be an art colony entirely, buy now it's a
huge number of boutique shops.  the art colony is now in JEROME, about a
half-hour away from Sedona.
        ARCOSANTI.  The Paolo Soleri attempt at an integrated community,
dating from the 60"s.  At the time it was futuristic.  Great
photographing.  Old/new, aging hippies all over...and Soleri bells.
        Near Tuscon (about 1 1/2 hours away from Phoenix) is the DESERT
MUSEUM.  An absolute must.  Plan on spending at least 3 to 4 hours
there...
