Okay here I am again, replying to my own messages. The 
stereoscopic vision for the blind got me thinking. I
wonder if that same kind of technique could be used the
other way around, to help deaf people hear!

For example, a deaf person could sort of hear with a
color organ or other similar device that converts
sounds to visual cues. Taking this one step further,
it would be interesting to convert 3-D audio to 3-D
visual effects.

It would be interesting and entertaining even for
people without any auditory impairments. A
stereoscopic color organ!?! Has it been done?
