About 1984, I saw a demonstration of a similar effect on the short-lived
"Ripley's Believe It Or Not!" TV show on an ordinary TV with no glasses.
Two people tossing a Frisbee, apparently in 3-D. I didn't tape it, but I
think that it worked by subtly shifting the video camera repeatedly from
left to right and back (perhaps coordinated with swiveling it slightly). If
the analysis is correct, then a one-eyed viewer could see "stereo" (although
of course it wouldn't be true stereo because you only see one view at a
time).
