I have a good friend who was stationed in Alaska during the Korean war. Far
far away from almost anything to do. Turns out that he was the only enlisted
man interested in photography. Aside from having a fun time in the Enlisted
Men's Darkroom, he also made quite a few bucks on the side by hand-tinting
photographs of the guy's girls at $5 each.
He got pretty good at it, too.
One day, one of the guys comes in with his mail and hands Joe a polaroid of
his girl that she sent him. A nudie, apparently shot on self-timer.
The more things change....
