The strongest effect like this I've seen is driving down I-15
south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch mountain range. The roads
runs parallel to the mountain front, and at around 70 mph I get
quite strong depth cues as I pass the nearer peaks as opposed to
the ones farther from the highway. If there are fluffy cumulus
clouds, the effect if further enhanced...
