Consider yourself luck about the achromatic lenses.  I'd guess that
1:3 viewers has single element lenses.  This viewer has a number
of "mechanical" problems, IMO.  One is that the slide wobbles in 
the carrier as you press it down to activate the light.  There are 
reflections seen through the viewer and it cannot be easily modified 
for 7p.
