It is fine, as long as you don't drop it! :)   You definitely have to be more
careful when using these more delicate and expensive stereo cameras.
I am not afraid to take my S1 anywhere I go, I am just more careful
about how I handle it (unlike the Realist which I have dropped a couple
of times and ran over with my car once - still working!) 

If something goes wrong, the S1 can be repaired, possibly here in the
USA by the Konica authorized repair facility.
