[photo-3d] RE: 3D and stereo vocabulary

Quite a problem, since both terms apply to images & sound too...
To increase confusion, the term "beam splitter" means a stereo adaptor to
photographers, but it also means a prism or mirror device used by
holographers to split (make 2 from one) a laser beam. For movie-makers the
"beam splitter" is a part of reflex cameras... it is even possible to chat
for hours without realizing what other parties are referring to!
even if we refer to "stereo adaptors", a Franka, a Nu-View or an anaglyph
add-ons still  are quite different things, so misunderstanding is likely.
