To Don Lopp,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Don. Because you didn't mention that
these guys went away with "disdane" for 35mm stereo after seeing them
in a hand viewer, I wasn't to know that either!

Now I get it. It seems that you must have taken along some 35mm
slides and a 35mm hand viewer somewhere up on Mt Rainier to show
those people standing on the same spot. However, on reading again
what you said, you didn't say that either! Would you be so kind as to
tell us the exact circumstances in which you showed 35mm slides to
those people who came away with disdain and what kind of hand viewer,
light source, quality of the slides and all that kind of stuff was involved.
On reading what you said still once more, Don, you didn't even say that
that YOU showed them any 35mm stereos. If you didn't show them
the 35mm slides, can you say what kind of quality, viewer and other
factors were involved? I get worried if I think the judgement has been
tainted in some way. Complete details would help. Remember, there is
a lot more rubbish about than quality stuff in 35mm. Do you think this
could possibly happen with MF too?

NOTE: A bit of philosophy:
We should each be aware of the fact that there are "lobbies"
existing in many areas, some being: 35mm Stereo Slides, 7 x 3.5 in
Stereo Cards, MF Stereo Slides, Viewmaster Reels, LF Stereo
(prints and/or trannies), Stereo Cine-film, Stereo Video, Digital 3D -
the list seems endless. As in religion and politics, we are each entitled
to our own preferred area of specialisation and are entitled to the
respect of our peers. Long live MF Stereo Slides. They ARE
wonderful, but don't expect too many of us to rush in and join the
MF lobby.
