[photo-3d] Clarifications on my violation of Federal copyright laws, etc.

I would like to clarify a few things.
There was some talk about copying Boris' slides. I have
not copied any of Boris' slides. Why do so when Boris
sells copies of his slides? I'd be happy to buy another
set if I need one. I have remounted 2 of his slides
in Realist mounts. I have projected 2 of his computer-
generated slides (not nudes) in a program called "Computer
Generated Stereo" which I presented in our club. For that,
I had asked and was given permission. (I also projected
slides from Larry Berlin at the same show).
I have copied images from the Museum 3D book (my own copy)
which consists of pairs of flat paintings and then the
same paintings converted to stereo. I have projected
these using my Brackett Dissolver. It is fascinating
to see the same image projected in 2D and then DISSOLVED
into 3D. Bob Brackett presented a similar program in the
Richmond convention and the New England stereo club.
I have a large collection of interesting slides, mostly
mine, but others given to me by friends, copies of
stereo views, slides from the 50s, etc. I use these
images in entertaining & educational programs to promote
stereo photography. I do not sell copies, and I do not
charge admission for these programs.
Does that make me a pirate based on some narrow
interpretation of some laws? I'll be happy to wear
an eye patch (oops, I think I stole that one :))
Do I hurt anyone? You be the judge.
On the other hand, I have written a few books on stereo
equipment and stereo photography in general which I sell
for profit. All my books are loaded with references.
My Realist Camera book only has 58 detailed references
(and especially for Mike Canter, this book is available
for sale for $35 :)))))) The photographers who
contributed images (Boris and Harolddd are two) or
those who lent me equipment to photograph, are
acknowledged with bold letters. I give credit wherever
credit is due. If I did not think of it, there will be
a reference. I have been helped by many wonderful
people. Just a few that come in mind: Jon Golden,
Dick Twichell, Colin Clay, John Dukes, Paul Wing,
Ron Zakowski, Elliott Swanson, Dean Jacobowitz...
They are all listed in the Acknowledgement sections
in my books.
Sorry to bore you, but I needed to take this off my
system. Thanks for reading...
