While I don't agree with Stephan with regard to his views on animal rights, 
and I do find his criticism of Tom harsh, I'm surprised by the vitriol his 
posting has inspired.  While Stephan was blunt, I felt his remarks were 
heartfelt and at least motivated by a sense of compassion.  The responses to 
his comments seem mean-spirited and condescending.

Are there more important issue to devote one's time to than rat consumption?  
Certainly.  That said, isn't it also true that one's time could be spent on 
more important things than ridiculing animal rights protestors???  Come on, 
guys, lighten up and stop hammering Stephan.  Enough is enough.
