Accessory. It came with a small light "thing" that allows single 35mm slide
or 4 strip of negative scans. I wanted the added benefit of the 5"x6"
lightlid surface. Te whole deal is less than $200 now - lightlid included.

Yes, but it's not a physical, manual thing. You choose a scan mode in the
scanning software and it turns on the appropriate light per your choice.

Yes, that is the maximum optical resolution.
