I am not sure about the differences between the LightLids.

I too had (have) a GREAT UMAX scanner with a SCSI card to connect it to my 
PC. Works great on my old P133, but my one year old P500 can;t deal with the 
SCSI card, and a new replacement that will function cost more than the new 
scanner so it was easy for me. ON top of the cost issues, I now can do these 
great slide scans! =)
