Mike Canter speaks sooth.  White cars are cooler in hot weather.  White cars 
with tinted windows are even cooler.

Leaving the windows cracked helps as well.  [leave the a/c on "vent" or 
"mixed" so outside air can get *in*, hot air flows out]

Anything in direct sun [now or later, after the sun moves] will get HOT.  
White sheets/blankets also help.  T-shirts on car seats?  Now you know why.


The heat will also help kill your NiCd batteries and batteries in general.  
Plastic can and will melt/warp in the heat.  I've seen enough laserdiscs 
[old-tech 12" video discs, not new-tech 5" cd-sized dvds] damaged by the 
"mild" california heat to know that.  My favorite laser store had an 
ever-changing display of "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LEAVE A LASERDISC IN 
THE SUN".
