[photo-3d] Rusty TDC 116

Greetings,

A good friend was given a TDC 116 that had been left in 
a damp basement for 30 years. He gave it to me. It has 
all of the pieces except the slide carrier. The good 
news is that it works and it has 4-inch lenses. The bad 
news is that there is a lot of rust and corrosion. So 
I'd like to ask the list for advice on how to deal with 
the rust. What is the best way to clean it off? What 
should a person do to stop or prevent further rust and 
corrosion??  How do you treat the pitting on cast aluminum?
