I have done ALOT of research on printers, and with out
a doubt the printer to get is the Epson 870. You can
find it online at ONVIA.com for only $270 and there
is free shipping!

http://www.onvia.com/usa/products/index.cfm?Task=ViewProduct&SearchText=epson%2520870&IdCatalog=2451970

I ordered my paper from there and it was cheaper than
any where. If you want to print a photo that even
under magnification still looks exactly like a photo,
you would have to use either the EPSON PREMIUM GLOSSY
PHOTO PAPER, or the EPSON MATTE PAPER-HEAVYWEIGHT.
Both have increadible results, and what many people
may not realise is that other ink jet printers print
photos that can fade in as little as one month. The
870 from Epson is as archival as color photos you get
from a lab!

I have the 1270 which is the same as the 870, but I
can print 11X14 prints. I had to go this route
because of the Gallery work I have been doing.

I have printed photos on plain xerox paper, and at
about arms length they still look great. But, the
afore mentioned papers are what you want for close
examination. I print text on regular paper or really
cheap inkjet paper and it looks great!
