Gabriel asked for some background on the 3-D Cow
abduction image and the phone card.

Well, it is mostly a sore issue for me.  At the time I
had the image on my web site I was contacted by a man
that wanted to use the image for a phone card, and I
was really in need of cash (as I often seem to be,
this 3-D habit aint cheap).  The most money I could
get from him was $250.  He promised to give me 3 of
the phone cards, and that he wouldn't print more than
250 of the cards.  He was supposed to keep in touch
and tell me how well the cards were selling, as well
as pay me more money if he printed more cards.

Well, I got the check for $250, and 3 cards
(prototypes, not with phone time on them), but that
was it.  I never heard from him again, and he didn't
return my calls.  From what I heard from other people,
he had printed quite a lot of the cards, more than he
was legally supposed to as stated in our contract (I
was never able to verify that though, and he may not
have).

The other sore issue is something that even though I
was burned I don't want to get into the true depths of
the burn at the moment.  Let's just say that I let the
trading card people pay me an insainly low price to
have permission to use the image "in perpetuity(for
ever)", and then for the final printing they took my
credit off of the card and put "Image by X-M", even
though the card wasn't even created for them, let
alone by them.  They were unwilling to change that, so
I broke my ties with them and told them I would never
work with them again.  In fact, no one would ever no
it because my name isn't on them, but there are 3
images in the set that comes with the viewer that I
did.  The did put a nice paragraph about me in the
booklet that comes with the viewer, but I was pissed
that they didn't even put my name as the image on the
cards.
